Ex-Girlfriend’s Lawsuit Exposes Graphic Claims Against Sean Combs
US music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs is being held without bail after being charged with sex trafficking by force, transportation to engage in prostitution, and racketeering conspiracy, according to an indictment unsealed on Tuesday, September 17, 2024.
Combs was arrested at a Manhattan hotel on Monday night and brought before a judge on Tuesday, who denied bail. Appearing in a New York City federal courtroom, he pleaded not guilty.
Federal prosecutors allege that Combs “abused, threatened, and coerced women and others around him to fulfill his sexual desires, protect his reputation, and conceal his conduct” from 2008 to the present. These allegations mirror 11 civil complaints filed against him since 2023.
Combs is a rapper, record producer, actor, clothing designer, and businessman.
Allegations go Back to 1990s
Though he has faced multiple allegations dating back to the 1990s, the new wave of accusations gained prominence after Casandra “Cassie” Ventura, one of his ex-girlfriends, filed a lawsuit against Combs in a New York federal court in November of last year. The allegations included graphic claims of sexual assault, physical abuse, and an accusation that Combs, her ex-boyfriend, forced her to have sex with male sex workers while he watched. Ventura too is a singer, dancer, actress, and model.
The severity of Ventura’s allegations represents the most serious charges Combs has faced.
Combs’s alleged brutal behavior was highlighted in May of this year, after CNN published surveillance footage of Combs assaulting Ventura at a Los Angeles hotel in 2016.
